Multi-Cultural Committee

BECKMAN CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Along with the Statewide Multi-Cultural Council, each DMH center, facility and division is required to have a Multi-Cultural Committee. Beckman Center’s Multi-Cultural Committee” is comprised Melanie Gambrell ,Frank Jones, Cherry Parker, Betty Speech, Heather O’Dell, Tacey Perillo, Cheryl Lindler, Donna Stover, Loretta Moss and Barbara Bowman-Thomas, Chair. This committee serves to increase awareness, knowledge and skills of staff as it relates to cultural competence and effective service delivery.

The service area for Beckman Center for Mental Health Services is rural Multi-county that includes Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda as well as providing services to many of the schools in these areas. Beckman Center for Mental Health Services provides direct services such as Case management, Crisis Intervention, Family Counseling/Therapy, Group Counseling, Individual Counseling, Medication Services, Peer Support, PRS, CCS, WRAPS, STADS, Family Preservation and Assessments. Beckman Center for Mental Health Service serves a diversified multi-cultural mix of consumers.
